Usage Notes: Week 18
Running Back
After the game was well in-hand the Chiefs gave Ronald Jones
a 29% snaps share. Otherwise, it was business as usual with
Isiah Pacheco (36%) an Jerick McKinnon (37%) splitting snaps.
The Raiders let Josh Jacobs (71%) be the workhorse despite
coming into the game banged up. Ameer Abdullah (26%) worked
in on third downs while Zamir White (3%) barely played.
The Jags used three running backs Saturday night against
Tennessee: Travis Etienne (55%), JaMycal Hasty (49%) and Snoop Conner (4%).
The Titans used Derrick Henry (75%), Hassan Haskins (20%)
and Jonathan Ward (7%) at running back.
Atlanta continued to split their running back duties between
Tyler Allgeier (69%), Cordarrelle Patterson (28%) with some
Avery Williams (7%) sprinkled in.
Four running backs got in the game for Tampa Bay including
Giovani
Bernard (46%), Ke'Shawn
Vaughn (29%), Rachaad
White (18%) and Leonard
Fournette (6%).
The Patriots stuck to their running back duo of Rhamondre Stevenson (49%) and Damien Harris (53%). Pierre Strong Jr.
only played one snap.
James Cook (56%) out-snapped Devin Singletary (41%) for the
Bills. Nyheim Hines (5%) only played three snaps on offense.
The Vikings added Ty Chandler (17%) and Kene Nwangwu (14%)
to their running back mix this week along with Dalvin Cook
(46%) and Alexander Mattison (35%).
The Bears used three running backs to close out the season
including David Montgomery (47%), Khalil Herbert (37%) and
Trestan Ebner (16%).
J.K. Dobbins was inactive for Baltimore and Gus Edwards (6%)
left early with an injury leaving Kenyan Drake (65%) and Justice Hill (22%) to handle the running back duties.
Joe Mixon (55%) and Samaje Perine (46%) handled all of the
running back work for the Bengals.
Royce Freeman (23%) took a backseat to Dare Ogunbowale (62%)
this week. Rex Burkhead played 15% of the snaps.
Zack Moss (58%) and Deon Jackson (41%) were the only two
running backs to play an offensive snap for the Colts.
The Jets continued their three-man running back committee
with Ty Johnson (38%), Michael Carter (32%) and Zonovan Knight
(71%).
Jeff Wilson (65%) and Raheem Mostert (37%) handled the bulk
of running back duties for the Dolphins.
Chuba Hubbard played 70% of the snaps for Carolina this week
followed by D’Onta Foreman (25%) and Raheem Blackshear
(33%).
Alvin Kamara
played 75% of the snaps for New Orleans, leaving David
Johnson (12%) and Eno
Benjamin (10%) in backup roles.
Nick Chubb played 75% of the snaps for Cleveland while Kareem Hunt (25%) saw his role diminished.
Najee Harris (63%) and Jaylen Warren (43%) handled most of
the running back work for the Steelers.
With Saquon Barkley out, the Giants rolled with Matt Breida
(70%) and Gary Brightwell (46%) at running back.
Same three-man rotation at running back for the Eagles. Miles Sanders (40%), Boston Scott (33%) and Kenneth Gainwell (27%).
Tony Pollard
saw a 43% snap share while Ezekiel
Elliott played on 48% of the snaps. Malik
Davis (9%) was picking up scraps.
Jaret Patterson (50%) and Jonathan Williams (47%) split the
running back duties for Washington with Brian Robinson Jr.
and Antonio Gibson out.
Austin Ekeler (49%), Joshua Kelley (41%) and Larry Rountree III (12%) were used at running back for the Chargers.
Latavius Murray (60%), Chase Edmonds (37%) and Tyler Badie
(14%) were used at running back by the Broncos.
No James Conner for the Cardinals meant Corey Clement (69%)
and Keaontay Ingram (37%) filled the void at running back.
Welcome back to Elijah Mitchell who played 16% of the snaps
for the 49ers. Everyone got involved including Christian McCaffrey
(48%), Jordan Mason (23%) and Tyrion Davis-Price (13%).
Cam Akers played every snap for the Rams.
Kenneth Walker played 87% of the snaps for Seattle while
DeeJay Dallas (16%) filled the backup role.
As they’ve been doing all season, the Lions played three running
backs: Jamaal
Williams (48%), D’Andre
Swift (39%) and Justin
Jackson (10%).
Aaron Jones (55%) and AJ Dillon (52%) were the only two running
backs used by the Packers.
Wide Receiver
No Mecole Hardman or Skyy Moore in this game for KC. JuJu Smith-Schuster (73%), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (59%), Justin Watson (51%) and Kadarius Toney (31%) were the group of four
operating most of the game. Ihmir Smith-Marsette (15%) got in
during garbage time.
The Raiders stuck tight to their three-man receiving rotation
with Davante
Adams (90%), Mack
Hollins (94%) and Hunter
Renfrow (57%) playing the majority of snaps. Keelan
Cole (14%) was used sparingly.
Jacksonville maintained their typical receiver rotation with
Christian Kirk (96%), Zay Jones (94%) and Marvin Jones (55%)
operating as the top three. Jamal Agnew played on 14% of the
snaps.
Robert Woods (85%), Treylon Burks (75%) and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine
(57%) were the top three wideouts for Tennessee. Chris Conley
and Racey McMath rotated in as backups.
Atlanta’s receiving rotation included: Drake London
(57%), Olamide Zaccheaus (62%), Damiere Byrd (29%), KhaDarel Hodge (29%) and Frank Darby (41%).
Mike Evans sat this one out. The Bucs used five receivers:
Deven Thompkins (84%), Russell Gage (55%), Chris Godwin (47%),
Breshad Perriman (58%) and Scotty Miller (38%).
The Patriots used five receivers including: Jakobi Meyers
(90%), DeVante Parker (82%), Tyquan Thornton (54%), Kendrick Bourne (53%) and Nelson Agholor (6%).
Buffalo had a five-man rotation at wide receiver including:
Stefon Diggs (76%), Gabriel Davis (80%), Isaiah McKenzie (56%),
Khalil Shakir (25%) and John Brown (12%).
The Vikings took their foot off the gas in Week 18, playing
Justin Jefferson (51%), Adam Thielen (52%), K.J. Osborn (78%),
Jalen Nailor (47%) and Jalen Reagor (23%).
The Bears used six wide receivers against the Vikings: Chase
Claypool (71%), Dante
Pettis (63%), Byron
Pringle (55%), N'Keal Harry (33%), Velus
Jones Jr. (20%) and Equanimeous
St. Brown (8%).
The Ravens hodgepodge of receivers included: Demarcus Robinson
(63%), Sammy Watkins (50%), James Proche (42%) and Tylan Wallace
(24%).

Boyd (73%) were in their familiar roles for Cincinnati.
Trenton Irwin
(18%) and Stanley

With Phillip Dorsett inactive, the Texans used Brandin Cooks
(91%), Chris Moore (91%), Amari Rodgers (62%) and Johnny Johnson
(14%) at receiver.
Michael
Pittman Jr. (99%), Parris
Campbell (92%) and Alec
Pierce (64%) were locked into their normal roles for the
Colts.
Garrett Wilson (88%), Corey Davis (77%) and Elijah Moore
(70%) played the majority of snaps at receiver for the Jets.
Tyreek Hill
was bothered by ankle injury but still played 66% of the snaps.
Jaylen Waddle
(75%), Trent
Sherfield (65%), River
Cracraft (23%) and Erik
Ezukanma (15%) were also on the field.
D.J. Moore (92%) and Terrace Marshall Jr. (93%) were virtually
every-down players for Carolina.
The Saints used five receivers against the Panthers: Rashid
Shaheed (83%), Chris
Olave (60%), Keith
Kirkwood (47%), Tre'Quan
Smith (32%) and Marquez
Callaway (13%).
Same dominant snap share for Amari Cooper (91%) and Donovan Peoples-Jones (92%) in Cleveland.
Diontae Johnson (82%) finished the season without a TD. George Pickens (63%), Steven Sims (45%), Gunner Olszewski (18%) and
Miles Boykin (15%) were out there running routes for the Steelers.
The Giants used their backups at wide receiver this week.
Kenny Golladay played every snap. Marcus Johnson played 95%
of the snaps. Darius Slayton only played 3 snaps.
DeVonta Smith played every snap for the Eagles. A.J. Brown
(80%), Quez Watkins (43%) and Zach Pascal (26%) rounded out
the top four.
Dallas used four wide receivers: CeeDee Lamb (87%), Michael Gallup (90%), Noah Brown (66%) and T.Y. Hilton (39%).
Terry McLaurin (76%), Jahan Dotson (74%), Curtis Samuel (53%)
were the top three receivers for Washington.
In a meaningless game, Mike Williams played 37% of the snaps
before leaving with back spasms(?). Keenan Allen played 77%
of the snaps, Josh Palmer 79% and DeAndre Carter 60%.
Jerry Jeudy (97%) and Courtland Sutton (94%) saw the most
snaps for the Denver wide receivers. Freddie Swain (32%) and
Brandon Johnson (11%) played in backup roles.
Marquise Brown (85%), Greg Dortch (69%) and A.J. Green (64%)
were the top three receivers for Arizona.
Deebo Samuel returned from injury to play 68% of the snaps.
Brandon Aiyuk (73%), Jauan Jennings (42%), Danny Gray (27%)
and Ray-Ray McCloud (19%) also saw action.
The Rams used a tight rotation at WR including Tutu Atwell
(93%), Van Jefferson (97%) and Brandon Powell (80%).
DK Metcalf (83%) and Tyler Lockett (79%) were in their familiar
roles. Cade Johnson (41%), Dareke Young (24%) and Laquon Treadwell
(7%) were secondary options.
The Lions used five receivers Sunday night against the Packers:
Amon-Ra St. Brown (86%), D.J. Chark (65%), Josh Reynolds (40%),
Kalif Raymond (37%) and Jameson Williams (24%).
Christian Watson (87%) and Allen Lazard (90%) played the
most snaps for Green Bay. Romeo Doubs (38%), Randall Cobb
(32%) and Samori Toure (3%) also saw action.
Tight Ends
Travis Kelce played 73% of the snaps for the Chiefs. Noah Gray (58%) and Blake Bell (31%) filled the backup role.
Darren Waller (67%) and Foster Moreau (40%) were the only
tight ends to play for the Raiders.
The Jaguars used Evan Engram (88%), Chris Manhertz (39%)
and Luke Farrell (6%) at tight end.
The Titans continued to split their tight end usage among
four guys: Geoff
Swaim (55%), Austin
Hooper (45%), Chigoziem
Okonkwo (43%) and Kevin
Rader (4%).
MyCole Pruitt (46%), Parker Hesse (66%) and Anthony Firkser
(24%) were the tight ends for Atlanta.
Tampa Bay played Cade Otton (35%), Ko Kieft (16%), Kyle Rudolph
(20%) and Cameron Brate (49%) at tight end.
It was the Hunter Henry show for the Patriots. He played
all of the snaps.
Dawson Knox (81%) and Quintin Morris (41%) handled the tight
end duties for Buffalo.
Irv Smith (45%) got some action in this week which cut into
T.J. Hockenson ’s (47%) playing time. Johnny Mundt also
played 37% of the snaps as the Vikings rested some of their
starters.
Cole Kmet played 94% of the snaps for the Bears.
Mark Andrews was Inactive for the Ravens. In his place, they
used Isaiah Likely (89%), Josh Oliver (44%) and Charlie Kolar
(44%).
Hayden Hurst (73%) and Mitchell Wilcox (42%) split the tight
end duties for the Bengals.
Jordan Akins (54%) and Teagan Quitoriano (66%) were the main
tight ends for Houston. Brevin Jordan (9%) barley played.
Mo Alie-Cox (60%) and Jelani Woods (52%) played the bulk
of the snaps at tight end for the Colts.
C.J. Uzomah was inactive this week leaving Tyler Conklin
(96%), Jeremy Ruckert (34%) and Kenny Yeboah (21%) at the
tight end spot for the Jets.
Durham Smythe (71%), Mike Gesicki (39%) and Hunter Long (17%)
played tight end for the Dolphins.
Ian Thomas (58%) and Tommy Tremble (49%) spilt tight end
duties for the Panthers.
The Saints continued to use three tight ends including Juwan Johnson (68%), Taysom Hill (30%) and Adam Trautman (53%).
David Njoku played 92% of the snaps for the Browns.
Pat Freiermuth was injured the second half but still played
63% of the snaps. Zach Gentry (58%) and Connor Heyward (34%)
picked up the slack.
Lawrence Cager (97%) and Nick Vannett (87%) were used at
tight end by the Giants.
Dallas Goedert played every snap for the Eagles.
Dalton Schultz played 87% of the snaps for the Cowboys.
The Commanders played Logan Thomas (70%), John Bates (59%),
Cole Turner (17%) and Armani Rogers (17%) at tight end.
The Chargers stuck with their four tight ends: Gerald Everett
(44%), Donald Parham (52%), Tre’ McKitty (34%) and Stone Smartt (16%).
No Greg Dulcich left Denver tight end duties to Albert Okwuegbunam
(45%), Eric Tomlinson (39%), Eric Saubert (34%) and Andrew Beck (35%).
Trey McBride played 83% of the snaps for the Cardinals.
George Kittle (71%) took a few snaps off this week. Tyler Kroft (37%) and Charlie Woerner (19%) picked up the slack.
Tyler Higbee played 89% of the snaps for the Rams.
Colby Parkinson (79%) and Noah Fant (64%) split tight end
duties for the Seahawks.
Three tight ends used by the Lions in Week 18: Brock Wright
(58%), Shane Zylstra (36%) and James Mitchell (18%).
Robert Tonyan played 62% of the snaps for Green Bay.
