Not only did Burrow's injury torpedo this passing game, Higgins missed five games of his own on the way to the worst statistical season of his career. Higgins' downward trend comes at a bad time, as he's seeking a long-term contract, but will instead settle for a franchise tag year. Working against him is the shift to a shorter passing attack. While his average depth of target has risen from 10.7 in 2022 to 12.8 in 2023, his opportunities to make plays hasn't. He had five games of four or fewer targets last season which is equal to the number he had in 2021 and 2022 combined. If this offense goes as pass heavy as I think it will, Higgins should see an uptick in chances if the young bucks behind him on the depth chart don't take too many for themselves. Higgins might not be trustworthy on a weekly basis, but he's the rare WR3 that can pop off and win you a week, especially in standard leagues.

Tee Higgins gets the franchise tag again Higgins would make $26.2 million if he plays under the tag By: Mike Krueger | Mon Mar 3, 2:34 pm

| | Bengals placed the $26.2 million franchise tag on WR Tee Higgins. This marks the second straight year that the Bengals have used their franchise tag on Higgins. After designating Higgins as their franchise player for the second straight year, the Bengals said they did so with the “intent of continuing to work toward a long-term deal in Cincinnati.” (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: It's been speculated that the Bengals would have a hard time paying both Ja'Maar Chase and Higgins this off-season, which would likely result in Higgins playing elsewhere in 2025. For now it seems the Bengals are trying to get both wideouts a new deal. Chase will command one of the biggest non-quarterback salaries in the league. The franchise tag on Higgins gives both sided until July 15th to get a long-term deal done.

| Bengals list Chase Brown, Tee Higgins as Questionable Brown missed practice all week By: Mike Krueger | Thu Jan 2, 2:12 pm

| | #Bengals RB Chase Brown (ankle), WR Tee Higgins (ankle/knee) and OL Amarius Mims (ankle/hand) are all listed as questionable for Saturday night vs. Pittsburgh. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Brown missed practice all week with a high ankle sprain suffered in Week 17. Even if he does suit up, it's hard to imagine him being close to 100 percent. We're likely to see a good dose of Khalil Herbert against the Steelers. Higgins was limited in practice all week but seems likely to play.
