Usage Notes: Week 17
Running Back
With Tony Pollard out, Dallas used Ezekiel Elliott on 66%
of the snaps and Malik Davis on 33%.
With Derrick Henry out, Tennessee used Hassan Haskins on
66% of the snaps while Julius Chestnut played 22%. Jonathan Ward played 8%.
Conner’s miraculous run of 90 percent snap rate has
come to an end. He left with a shin injury but still managed
to play 55% of the snaps. Corey Clement (43%) picked up the
slack while Keaontay Ingram (1 snap) barley played.
A more even split for the Falcons this week at running back.
Tyler Allgeier (55%), Cordarrelle Patterson (50%) and Avery Williams (16%).
David Montgomery (54%) and Khalil Herbert (39%) were the
two main running backs for the Bears. Trestan Ebner played
10% of the snaps.
Despite Justin
Jackson being out, still limited usage for D’Andre
Swift (35%), but he sure made a difference when he was in
there. Jamaal
Williams played 47% of the snaps while Craig
Reynolds played 18%
A three-man committee for Houston: Royce Freeman (43%), Dare Ogunbowale (37%) and Rex Burkhead (19%).
Snoop Conner (18%) got some after the Jaguars had a comfortable
lead. Travis Etienne only played 38% of the snaps while JaMycal Hasty played 40%.
The Broncos used just two running backs against the Chiefs,
Latavius Murray (60%) and Chase Edmonds (59%).
Jerick McKinnon (48%) and Isiah Pacheco (45%) continue their
two-man backfield in KC. Ronald Jones played just 2 snaps.
The Dolphins two-man rotation saw Jeff Wilson (65%) with
the bigger snap share over Raheem Mostert (42%).
Rhamondre Stevenson (57%) and Damien Harris (48%) were the
main backs for New England. Pierre Strong Jr. played just
2 snaps.
The Colts used three running backs against the Giants: Zack Moss (59%), Deon Jackson (24%) and Jordan Wilkins (17%).
Saquon Barkley played 79% of the snaps for the Giants. Matt Breida (19%) and Gary Brightwell (8%) filled the backup role.
Alvin Kamara played 58% of the snaps for the Saints. David Johnson (12%) and Eno Benjamin (9%) were also in the mix.
The Eagles used all three of their running backs this week.
Miles Sanders (40%), Kenneth Gainwell (27%) and Boston Scott
(33%).
Chuba Hubbard
(53%) out-snapped D’Onta
Foreman (40%) this week. Raheem
Blackshear played just 5% of the snaps.
The Bucs continued their two-man running back rotation with
Rachaad White (50%) and Leonard Fournette (46%).
Typical usage for the Browns running backs. Nick Chubb (56%)
and Kareem Hunt (32%). Jerome Ford played 12% of the snaps.
With Antonio Gibson out, the Commanders gave Brian Robinson Jr. a typical 52% snap share. Jonathan Williams played 46%.
It was the Christian McCaffrey (85%) show for the 49ers as
usual. Jordan Mason and Tyrion Davis-Price both played 8%.
Josh Jacobs played 67% of the snaps for the Raiders. Brandon Bolden (51%) and Ameer Abdullah (13%) were also in the mix.
The Jets used all three of their running backs including
Ty Johnson (47%), Michael Carter (29%) and Zonovan Knight
(51%).
Kenneth Walker played 57% of the snaps for Seattle. Backing
him up was DeeJay Dallas (38%) and Godwin Igwebuike (6%).
Dalvin Cook (59%) and the Vikings were on the wrong side
of a blowout against the Packers this week allowing Alexander Mattison to play 40% of the snaps.
AJ Dillon (46%) out-snapped Aaron Jones (40%) while Patrick Taylor (19%) also got in the mix during the Packers blowout
of the Vikings.
Once again, Cam Akers (78%) saw the bulk of the snaps for
the Rams at running back. Malcolm Brown (16%) played ahead
of Kyren Williams (6%).
Austin Ekeler (44%) continues to dominate with efficiency.
Joshua Kelley (36%) and Larry Rountree III (20%) also saw
action.
The Steelers use two running backs: Najee Harris (64%) and
Jaylen Warren (40%).
Gus Edwards (17%) barely played Sunday night against the
Steelers. Justice Hill (33%) saw an increased snap share alongside
J.K. Dobbins (50%).
Wide Receiver
It was basically a four-man rotation for the Cowboys at receiver:
CeeDee Lamb (85%), Michael Gallup (85%), Noah Brown (59%) and
T.Y. Hilton (28%).
The top three receivers for Tennessee were Robert Woods (74%),
Treylon Burks (72%) and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (69%).
With no DeAndre Hopkins the Cardinals used Marquise Brown
(91%), Greg Dortch (81%), Andre Baccellia , Robbie Anderson
(23% - inj), A.J. Green (16%) and Pharoh Cooper (10%).
The Falcons used five wideouts including Drake London (77%),
Olamide Zaccheaus (61%), Damiere Byrd (31%), KhaDarel Hodge
(24%) and Frank Darby (18%).

Fields this week. The Bears WR rotation was Byron

The Lions rotated five receivers including Amon-Ra St. Brown
(70%), D.J. Chark (68%), Josh Reynolds (44%), Kalif Raymond
(30%) and Jameson Williams (25%).
The Texans used Brandin Cooks (77%), Chris Moore (84%), Phillip Dorsett (56%) and Amari Rodgers (44%) at receiver.
Jacksonville played five receivers: Christian Kirk (83%),
Zay Jones (78%), Marvin Jones (67%), Tim Jones (16%) and Jamal Agnew (27%).
Jerry Jeudy (89%), Courtland Sutton (81%) and Kendall Hinton
(47%) were the top three receivers for the Broncos.
Skyy Moore (25%) left with a hand injury. The rest of the
Chiefs WR rotation included Marquez Valdes-Scantling (83%),
JuJu Smith-Schuster (65%), Justin Watson (37%) and Kadarius Toney (32%).
Miami used five receivers including Tyreek
Hill (82%), Jaylen
Waddle (76%), Trent
Sherfield (59%), River
Cracraft (24%) and Cedrick
Wilson (16%).
The Patriots basically used four receivers against the Dolphins:
Tyquan Thornton (93%), Jakobi Meyers (82%), Kendrick Bourne
(47%) and Nelson Agholor (45%).
The Colts used a tight three-man WR rotation of Michael Pittman Jr. (98%), Parris Campbell (97%) and Alec Pierce (83%).
The Giants also use a tight rotation at receiver including
Darius Slayton (83%), Isaiah Hodgins (81%) and Richie James
(79%). Kenny Golladay played 11% of the snaps.
The Saints used five receivers including Rashid
Shaheed (68%), Chris
Olave (61%), Keith
Kirkwood (41%), Kirk
Merritt (25%) and Tre'Quan
Smith (19%).
A.J. Brown played every snap for the Eagles. DeVonta Smith
(98%), Quez Watkins (51%) and Zach Pascal (36%) have been
the top four wideouts most of the season.
The Panthers used four receivers including D.J. Moore (99%),
Terrace Marshall Jr. (88%), Shi Smith (47%) and Laviska Shenault Jr. (27%).
Mike Evans ’ huge day came on 83% of the snaps. Chris Godwin (85%), Russell Gage (54%), Julio Jones (28%) and Deven Thompkins (12%) were in the rotation.
Amari Cooper scored twice on 61% of the snaps. Donovan Peoples-Jones
(86%), Michael Woods II (37%), David Bell (26%) and Jaelon Darden (4%) were also in the mix.
Washington used five receivers including Terry McLaurin (81%),
Jahan Dotson (77%), Curtis Samuel (64%), Cam Sims and Dyami Brown (16%).
Three wide receivers for the 49ers: Brandon Aiyuk (96%),
Jauan Jennings (88%) and Ray-Ray McCloud (42%).
A tight three-man rotation for the Raiders at wide receiver
including Davante Adams (89%), Mack Hollins (86%) and Hunter Renfrow (46%). Keelan Cole played just 4 snaps.
Garrett Wilson played every snap for the Jets. Corey Davis
(84%) and Elijah Moore (70%) were also in the top three.
Tyler Lockett (finger) only played 32% of the snaps for Seattle.
DK Metcalf (82%), Laquon Treadwell (54%), Cade Johnson (36%)
and Dareke Young (38%) made up the five-man rotation.
One catch for Justin Jefferson this week on 79% of the snaps.
K.J. Osborn (79%), Adam Thielen (85%), Jalen Reagor (21%)
and Jalen Nailor (16%) were all part of the rotation.
Christian Watson (hip) played 60% of the snaps alongside Allen Lazard (71%), Randall Cobb (46%), Romeo Doubs (49%)
and Samori Toure (18%).
Van Jefferson (94%), Tutu Atwell (84%) and Brandon Powell
(76%) have settled in as the Rams top three receivers.
The Chargers used Keenan Allen (84%), Mike Williams (78%),
Josh Palmer (58%) and DeAndre Carter (20%) at wide receiver.
The Steelers used five wide receivers against the Ravens
including Diontae Johnson (91%), George Pickens (73%), Steven Sims (41%), Gunner Olszewski (36%) and Miles Boykin (14%).
The Ravens don’t throw to wide receivers very much
but Demarcus Robinson (60%), Sammy Watkins (42%), DeSean Jackson
(35%), James Proche (8%) and Andy Isabella (6%) were used
in this game.
Tight Ends
Dalton Schultz played 81% of the snaps for Dallas.
The Titans continued to used four tight ends: Austin
Hooper (49%), Geoff
Swaim (45%), Chigoziem
Okonkwo (25%) and Kevin
Radar (20%).
Trey McBride (7-78-1) had his best game of the season, playing
96% of the snaps.
The Falcons used three tight ends: MyCole Pruitt (65%), Parker Hesse (58%) and Anthony Firkser (15%).
Cole Kmet played 89% of the snaps for the Bears.
The Lions used a TE by committee of Brock Wright (65%), Shane Zylstra (39%) and James Mitchell (28%).
O.J. Howard (27%) got back in the mix for Houston, alongside
Jordan Akins (59%) and Brevin Jordan (36%).
The Jaguars used Evan Engram (67%), Chris Manhertz (30%),
Dan Arnold (22%) and Luke Farrell (16%) at tight end.
With Greg Dulcich out, we saw the return of Albert Okwuegbunam
who played 53% of the snaps. Eric Saubert (34%), Eric Tomlinson
(33%) and Andrew Beck (19%) were also in the mix.
Travis Kelce played 87% of the snaps for the Chiefs. Noah Gray (55%) and Blake Bell (13%) were also in the mix.
The Dolphins used three tight ends: Durham Smythe (59%),
Mike Gesicki (42%) and Hunter Long (17%).
Hunter Henry played every snap for the Patriots.
With Kylen Granson out, the Colts used Jelani Woods (60%)
and Mo Alie-Cox (53%) at tight end.
Daniel Bellinger played 89% of the snaps for the Giants.
The Saints three-man tight end committee remains in effect.
Juwan Johnson (67%), Taysom Hill (45%) and Adam Trautman (68%).
Dallas Goedert played 96% of the snaps for the Eagles.
With Cameron Brate out, Tampa Bay used Cade Otton (87%),
Ko Kieft (30%) and Kyle Rudolph (14%).
David Njoku played 93% of the snaps for the Browns.
Logan Thomas played 83% of the snaps for the Commanders.
George Kittle played 93% of the snaps for the 49ers.
Darren Waller (57%) continues to play fewer snaps than Foster Moreau (79%) but Waller is the pass-catcher.
Tyler Conklin (61%) and C.J. Uzomah (56%) split snaps for
the Jets at tight end.
With Will Dissly out the Seahawks used Colby Parkinson (815),
Noah Fant (63%) and Tyler Mabry (4%) at tight end.
T.J. Hockenson played 81% of the snaps for the Vikings.
The Packers used four tight ends: Robert Tonyan (62%), Marcedes Lewis (37%), Josiah Deguara (37%) and Tyler Davis (16%).
Tyler Higbee played 90% of the snaps for the Rams.
Four tight ends were used by the Chargers: Gerald
Everett (56%), Tre'
McKitty (47%), Donald
Parham (41%) and Stone
Smartt (16%).
Pat Freiermuth played 77% of the snaps for the Steelers.
Three tight ends were used for the Ravens including Mark Andrews (94%), Josh Oliver (58%) and Isaiah Likely (33%).
