The secondary is the unit to attack, as the Lion’s D has
melted down over the last month. Sutton is up to double digit
touchdowns for the first time in his career, and while Jeudy hasn’t
lived up to the preseason hype, I think Denver goes pass heavy
at Ford Field making both receivers solid fantasy playoff options.
With Kelce likely getting the Belichick treatment, and Rice
climbing to alpha receiver status, the rookie is a strong start
this week. Seeing a massive 29 targets in his last three games,
Rice has delivered 23 receptions for 243 yards and two scores.
All that production AND he always lines up onside!
Hockenson continues to be a reliable option at the tight end
position even with the QB roulette the Vikings have been forced
to play. With the Joshua Dobbs experience grounded for now, Hock
could see a boost with Nick Mullens behind center, and Jefferson
likely back to soak up attention. Mullens isn’t the running
threat Dobbs is, so look for more short and intermediate throws,
especially with the backfield banged up.
Since the firing of OC Ken Dorsey, the Bills offense has greatly
diversified, with Diggs suffering as a result. The passing game
isn’t being funneled through Diggs any longer, and when
the ball does go his way, it’s more likely to fall incomplete
than be caught. Of his last 30 targets, Allen and Diggs have only
connected on 14, for a sub 50% completion rate. Diggs hasn’t
posted more than 75 yards since week 9, and while the Cowboy secondary
is beatable, Diggs is going to be hard to trust as anything more
than a WR2.
Texans WRs vs TEN
With Stroud very unlikely to play this week off a nasty concussion,
Davis Mills steps into the starting role and is an immediate downgrade
for all Texan pass catchers. On the back of a strong arm, and
veteran moxy, Stroud is having an all-time rookie season. Mills
lacks the physical tools to push the ball down the field, and
the Titan defense can be ornery.
Since retiring from a hamstring injury in Week 13 Higgins has
only seen 7 targets as the passing game continues to flow through
Ja’Marr Chase. With Browning under center, Cinci has opted
for a short, safe passing attack, something that doesn’t
exactly fit Higgins’ skillset. Toss in a Minnesota defense
quietly playing some great ball, and Higgins becomes a dicey play.
