What to Expect
PPR Mock Draft Analysis: Rounds 11-16
8/15/11
Rounds: 1-5 | 6-10 | 11-16

- PPR Scoring, 12 Teams, 16 Rounds
- Starting Lineup: 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/ST, 1 Flex (RB, WR, TE)

Round 11 Thoughts: Backup RB value was the theme for this round. I contemplated James Starks at 9.09 and again at 10.04. Great value for BrunoBoys at 11.01. His ADP suggests he was taken a round too low. … Pierre Thomas isn’t getting any respect as his rookie counterpart steals the spotlight. You should expect Thomas to go a round or two earlier. … Willis McGahee finishes out the trio of undervalued RBs. He’ll get plenty of work in John Fox’s offense in a timeshare with Knowshon Moreno. … I love the Green Bay defense as much as the next guy, but taking a D/ST in this round doesn’t make much sense. The value difference between D/ST1 and D/ST12 just isn’t that great.

Round 12 Thoughts: No way Zach Miller (SEA) goes this late if he’s in Oakland. Sadly, Tarvaris Jackson has this kind of effect on your fantasy value. … Another buzzkill to your fantasy value: drafting a wide receiver in the first round. Tony Gonzalez will be the third option in the Falcons’ passing game this year behind Roddy White and Julio Jones. … Interesting that Donald Driver is the last of the Packers wideouts taken. Fantasy owners equate youth with upside.

Round 13 Thoughts: Donovan McNabb’s move to Minnesota isn’t doing anything for his fantasy value. Losing Sidney Rice to Seattle doesn’t help either. … Jordan Shipley will and should go in your PPR league, but he would have more value if Carson Palmer were in the huddle.

Round 14 Thoughts: Brent Celek could be a steal if Jeremy Maclin is out for any length of time. … Calling all backup RBs with upside—time to fill out the roster. Detroit signed Jerome Harrison the day of this draft. Ronnie Brown and Javon Ringer represent solid handcuff picks.

Round 15 Thoughts: Brandon Jackson is currently the No. 2 running back behind Peyton Hillis as Montario Hardesty continues to struggle with injuries. … Given the youth and inexperience at the wideout position, Todd Heap could be the Cardinals’ second leading receiver.

Round 16 Thoughts: It’s time for a kicker. If the big names are gone, Josh Brown or rookie Alex Henery will do you just fine.
