- PPR Scoring, 12 Teams, 16 Rounds
- Starting Lineup: 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/ST, 1 Flex
(RB, WR, TE)
Round 6 Thoughts: Greg Olsen’s
stock is moving up, but to see him drafted at 6.03—a full
round ahead of Jimmy Graham and almost two rounds ahead of Owen
Daniels—is a surprise. There’s too much depth at the
position to take Olsen here. … Much like with Ingram, owners
have a mixed valuation of Kenny Britt. I’m comfortable with
the risk, drafting him as a WR2, and likely would’ve done
so late in Round 5. … Notice the running back value that’s
still available. … Daniel Thomas, Ryan Grant, BenJarvus
Green-Ellis, and Marshawn Lynch are all solid RB3’s and
good picks in this round even if they lack sex appeal.
Round 7 Thoughts: The second-tier
QBs come off the shelves—Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning,
and upside pick Matthew Stafford. … This round is also dominated
by No. 2 wide receivers on teams with high-powered pass offenses
– Chad Ochocinco, Pierre Garcon, and Mario Manningham off
the board. … Outside of Greg Jennings, the values of the
other three notable receivers in Green Bay are all over the map.
Don’t be surprised to see Jordy Nelson or James Jones taken
ahead of starter Donald Driver, as Nelson was here.
Round 8 Thoughts: Again, the tight
end depth is healthy. Owen Daniels in the 8th Round is great value,
as is Kellen Winslow. [Note to self: No reason to gamble on Antonio
Gates in Round 3.] … The news of Roy Williams securing a
spot in the starting lineup hadn’t quite hit the masses
at the time of this draft. He’ll likely go higher than 8.02
from here on out. … Danny Amendola has the potential to
be a PPR star, but the receiving corps in St. Louis remains muddled
at best. He’s worth the gamble here as a WR4 only.
Round 9 Thoughts: The first backup
QB is off the board (Josh
Freeman) along with a couple of rookie wideouts with upside
(Julio
Jones and Greg
Little) … Rashad
Jennings is taken a round or two ahead of his ADP and isn’t
worthy of RB3 status—the price I pay for taking Gates in Round
3 and having to play catch-up at the RB position. … One year you’re
a fantasy gem and the next year not so much. In the span of a
few weeks, Johnny
Knox has taken a nosedive to being Mr. Irrelevant in Round
9.
Round 10 Thoughts: Lance Moore’s
value has risen sharply since last week. You’ll be hard-pressed
to get him in the 10th round of any draft moving forward. …
Did I mention that TEs are deep this year? Reason #158 not to
draft a TE early: Marcedes Lewis (700 yards, 10 TDs) in Round
10. … While Kevin Kolb became a household name during the
lockout, experienced fantasy owners know a move to the desert
and Larry Fitzgerald doesn’t automatically equal big numbers.
He’s a QB2 and should be drafted as such.
