Jayden Daniels will sit in Week 8, Mariota to start
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 22 2025, 12:43 pm

Jayden Daniels is out for this week with a low-grade hamstring strain, per source. Not a long-term injury but Commanders don't want to risk it. (Jeremy Fowler on X)

FFToday's Take: Daniels left early in Week 7 with a hamstring injury and will now miss Monday night's game in Week 8 against the Chiefs. Being ruled out this early is typically is cause for alarm and doesn't bode well for his chances to play in Week 9. The Commanders bye is in Week 12. Marcus Mariota will have some plug and play appeal given his rushing ability, but is probably capped at a low-end QB1 in this matchup with the Chiefs.
