Geno Smith traded to the Raiders for a 3rd round pick Smith has one year remaining on current deal By: Mike Krueger | Mar 7 2025, 6:56 pm
Blockbuster: The #Seahawks are trading two-time Pro Bowl QB Geno Smith to the #Raiders for a 2025 third-round pick, sources tell The Insiders.
It’s a reunion for Pete Carroll and Smith, who also is expected to get a new contract. And Seattle will need a new QB. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take:Geno (34) has one year ($31 million) remaining on his current deal. Presumably a step up from the riff raff the Raiders have dealing with a quarterback the last few years, Geno is likely a bridge until the Raiders find a young QB in the couple of drafts. The Seahawks are now in need of a starter and could turn to free agent Sam Darnold. They have already cut WR Tyler Lockett and are looking to trade WR DK Metcalf.
