Deebo Samuel expected to miss multiple games
Suffered a calf strain in Week 2
By: Doug Orth | Sep 16 2024, 11:30 pm

More: 49ers WR Deebo Samuel strained his calf Sunday and is expected to miss a couple weeks, per HC Kyle Shanahan. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)

FFToday's Take: A "couple weeks" suggests that Samuel is dealing with a Grade 1 strain, since a Grade 2 strain usually means an athlete will be sidelined for at least a month. San Francisco will almost certainly rely more heavily on George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk in the passing game now without Samuel around. Jauan Jennings will start in Samuel's place and could be worth starting in deeper leagues. Considering how often Samuel was seeing work out of the backfield, look for rookie Isaac Guerendo to spell Jordan Mason.
