Las Vegas Raiders

Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow miss practice Thursday
Waller unlikely to play
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 20 2022, 5:00 pm

#Raiders' injury report for Thursday includes WR Hunter Renfrow (hip) who did not participate in practice. Also DNP is TE Darren Waller (hamstring). He told @JimTrotter_NFL “this weekend will probably be tough for me, but it won’t be a longtime thing.” (Anthony Galaviz on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like Waller is going to miss Week 7 against the Texans which would put Foster Moreau in play but he has been limited the last two days with a knee injury. If Renfrow misses as well, Mack Hollins would be a Flex consideration. We'll get more info on all of the Raiders' players after practice on Friday.

Baltimore Ravens

Mark Andrews, J.K. Dobbins miss practice Thursday
Rashod Bateman practiced for the second straight day
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 20 2022, 2:06 pm

Ravens TE Mark Andrews (knee) and RB J.K. Dobbins missed their second straight practices. Rashod Bateman practiced for the second straight day. He’s missed the last two games with a left foot injury. (Jamison Hensley on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: On the plus side, it seems like Bateman will be on the field this weekend against the Browns making him a Flex option Week 7 and possibly more depending on the status of Andrews. It seems like Kenyan Drake will be the starting running back if Dobbins isn't able to go. Drake broke out last week with a 10-119-1 line against the Giants.

Carolina Panthers

Panthers trade Christian McCaffrey to 49ers
Carolina receives multiple Day 2 draft picks in 2023
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 20 2022, 11:24 am

Sources: The #Panthers are trading star RB Christian McCaffrey to the #49ers, as SF adds a major offensive weapon. Full terms: -- The #49ers get star RB Christian McCaffrey. -- The #Panthers get a 2nd round pick in 2023, a third-rounder in 2023, and a fourth-round pick in 2023. Plus, a fifth-rounder in 2024. Massive. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: This is quite a haul for a running back but McCaffrey is arguably the best running back in the league. This is also a nice boost for his fantasy value but not as big as it might seem. McCaffrey is already RB4 in PPR scoring but his touchdown outlook is definitely going to increase on his new team. Jeff Wilson has lost a huge chunk of value and we'll see how much this impacts the running of Deebo Samuel. D'Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard are likely to share carries in Carolina in the wake of McCaffrey leaving.

New Orleans

Saints rule out Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry, Trautman
Week 7 injuries
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 19 2022, 2:49 pm

The #Saints ruled out CB Marshon Lattimore, WR Michael Thomas, WR Jarvis Landry, G Andrus Peat and TE Adam Trautman for tomorrow night's game vs. the #Cardinals. (Ari Meirov on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Saints will once again be depleted at the receiver position but will have Chris Olave (concussion) back in the mix to go along with Marquez Callaway and Tre'Quan Smith. Expect Juwan Johnson to handle the bulk of receiving duties at tight end.

New Orleans

Chris Olave set to play Week 7
Tells reporters he has been cleared from concussion
By: Doug Orth | Oct 18 2022, 10:00 pm

Saints WR Chris Olave said he is fully cleared, 100% and planning to return Thursday at Arizona after missing Week 6 with a concussion. (ESPN - Mike Triplett)

FFToday's Take: It is great news for a receiving corps that figures to be without Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) again. What is less clear right now is who will be throwing him the ball as both Andy Dalton (back) and Jameis Winston (back, ankle) are limited in practice. They might also be fighting for the starting quarterback job as well. Either way, Olave makes for a good start Thursday despite facing an Arizona defense that has done a surprisingly good job at limiting wide receiver production through six games.

Washington Redskins

Taylor Heinicke will start for the Commanders
Rookie Sam Howell will be the backup
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 18 2022, 12:12 pm

Washington HC Ron Rivera said Taylor Heinicke will start Sunday's game vs. the Packers and rookie QB Sam Howell will serve as the backup. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Carson Wentz injured his finger last week and may be put in IR. That decision will come later in the week. In the meantime, Heinicke will get some action against Green Bay in Week 7. The Packers have given up the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks but have had an easy time of it against Justin Fields, Bailey Zappe and Daniel Jones. Still, Heinicke's lack of talent keeps him on the QB2 list.

Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott likely to return Week 7
Sidelined since opener with thumb injury
By: Doug Orth | Oct 17 2022, 6:45 pm

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy: Cooper Rush has “put us in a good spot. (Dak Prescott) is going to be cleared officially. …The expectation is for Dak to be cleared today or tomorrow” and return to practice Wednesday. (Michael Gehlken on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Rush and the defense did yeoman's work in leading the Cowboys to a 4-1 record in Prescott's absence, but the former's shortcomings were exposed in Sunday night's loss. Prescott gets one of the best matchups he could have asked for in Week 7 with the Lions. Most of his fantasy managers should feel good about putting Prescott right back into their starting lineups. His return also should serve as a boon to CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and Dalton Schultz while opening things up a bit for Ezekiel Elliott.

Los Angeles Chargers

Keenan Allen expected to sit again Monday night
Hamstring injury; WR eyeing Week 7 return
By: Doug Orth | Oct 17 2022, 6:40 pm

Chargers WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) is inactive tonight vs. Broncos, per source. He's hoping to return next week. (ESPN - Jeremy Fowler)

FFToday's Take: This was expected, although Allen was limited in practice all week. It is somewhat interesting the Chargers are thinking about bringing him back in Week 7 with a bye coming up the following week. At any rate, he should automatically return to fantasy lineups. In regards to Monday night's game, expect the Chargers to rely heavily on Josh Palmer, Gerald Everett and Austin Ekeler with Denver expected to shadow Mike Williams with Patrick Surtain II.

Arizona Cardinals

Marquise Brown likely out at least six weeks
Non-surgical fracture; seeking second opinion
By: Doug Orth | Oct 17 2022, 6:30 pm

Some good news for AZCardinals WR Marquise Brown: Following the MRI, his foot isn’t as bad as was initially thought. It’s a small, non-surgical fracture, source said. Recovery time is about 6 weeks. He’s getting a second opinion from Dr. Robert Anderson before moving forward. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)

FFToday's Take: Brown and his fantasy managers can feel slightly better about this timeline than the one earlier Monday that had him possibly missing the rest of the season. As it is with this new timeline, however, he may miss the rest of the fantasy season. It is also possible that the Cardinals choose to keep him in bubble wrap if they fall too far back in the NFC West over the next month or so - which is a distinct possibility. In Brown's absence, DeAndre Hopkins, Rondale Moore and Zach Ertz should all be locked into the majority of fantasy lineups.

Arizona Cardinals

Panthers trade Robbie Anderson to Cardinals
Sideline dispute with WR coach
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 17 2022, 1:05 pm

Carolina had shopped Robbie Anderson recently, and all parties appeared on the same page. But rather than have to release him after yesterday, the #Panthers were able to deal him to Arizona. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: This move comes on the heels of Anderson getting into it with his WR coach on the sideline in Weel6. Anderson was eventually told to go the locker room. Marquise Brown suffered a foot injury yesterday and his status remains uncertain. Even so, Robbie doesn't have a lot of fantasy value at the moment with DeAndre Hopkins coming back into the mix. The Cardinals will owe Anderson's remaining $690,000 prorated portion of his base salary.

Arizona Cardinals

Marquise Brown in walking boot, X-rays negative
Will undergo further testing Monday
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 16 2022, 8:08 pm

Cardinals’ WR Marquise Brown, who left Sunday’s game with a foot injury, was spotted after the game in a walking boot. He told reporters that initial X-rays were negative and he will undergo further testing Monday. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Brown left Week 6 in the fourth quarter and is going to be in race to get cleared before the Cardinals Thursday night game against the Saints in Week 7. DeAndre Hopkins will be back for the Cardinals this week.

Cincinnati Bengals

Tee Higgins active for Week 6
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 16 2022, 11:30 am

Bengals WR Tee Higgins (ankle) is active for today’s game against New Orleans. (Ben Baby on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Higgins got in one limited practice this week after leaving early in Week 5 with an ankle injury. He obviously comes with some risk so temper your expectations today against the Saints.

New Orleans

Chris Olave not expected to play
Saints down top three receivers
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 16 2022, 8:00 am

Saints’ WR Chris Olave, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a concussion, is not expected to play vs. the Bengals, per source. This would leave the Saints without WRs Olave, Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Saints will be running out the JV squad at receiver against the Bengals today. Marquez Callaway and Tre'Quan Smith are likely to start at receiver and we could see more Taysom Hill usage this week making him a more viable play if you have nothing else at tight end.

Indianapolis Colts

Colts rule out Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines
Indianapolis down their top two running backs
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 15 2022, 12:49 pm

The #Colts have officially ruled out RBs Nyheim Hines (concussion) and Jonathan Taylor (ankle) this week. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Hines wasn't able to clear the concussion protocol in time while Taylor still isn't over his ankle injury suffered in Week 4. With both running backs on the bench, expect Phillip Lindsay to share time with Deon Jackson. Deon Jackson played 58% of the snaps in Week 5 while saw Lindsay saw 38%.

New Orleans

Andy Dalton to start, Michael Thomas Out
Foot injury for Thomas
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 14 2022, 3:00 pm

Saints coach Dennis Allen said they’re anticipating that Andy Dalton will start at QB again Sunday. Said WR Michael Thomas is getting better but not there yet. (Mike Triplett on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Saints will once again be without quarterback Jameis Winston and receiver Michael Thomas. Chris Olave suffered a concussion last week and hasn't cleared the protocol yet but hasn't been ruled out either. We can expect a whole lot of Alvin Kamara against the Bengals.

Los Angeles Rams

Cam Akers out for Week 6, personal issue
Rams down starting running back
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 14 2022, 2:44 pm

Sean McVay says Cam Akers won't be here today (was out yesterday listed as "personal"), and out Sunday. McVay says team is working through the situation, and he also declined to say whether he believes Akers will be a part of the team in the future. "Working through some things." McVay characterizes this as an internal issue with Akers, who he says is physically ok. "We're dealing with things internally. ... he is gonna be OK." (Jourdan Rodrigue on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Akers absence means the Rams will likely start Darrell Henderson at running back. The Rams rushing offense ranks 31st in the league with Akers and Henderson having two touchdowns between them. On the plus side, the Rams are currently favored by 10 points which is a nice projected game script for Henderson in the fourth quarter. He's definitely worth RB2/Flex consideration.

Arizona Cardinals

James Conner expected to miss Week 6
Rib injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 13 2022, 2:51 pm

Sources: Cardinals' James Conner expected to miss Seattle game with rib injury, how Arizona is proceeding at running back position: @PFN365 (Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: This is the second rib injury for Conner this season. Expect to see Eno Benjamin get the bulk of the work for the Cardinals against the Seahawks. This is good matchup for Eno against a Seattle defense that's giving up the 6th most fantasy points (PPR) to running backs.

Baltimore Ravens

Rashod Bateman missed practice Thursday
Foot injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 13 2022, 2:08 pm

Not practicing for Ravens: WR Rashod Bateman (foot), OLB Justin Houston (groin), G Ben Cleveland (foot), TE Nick Boyle. Returning to practice: RB Justice Hill (hamstring), LT Ronnie Stanley (ankle), CB Marcus Peters (vet day), DE Calais Campbell (vet day). (Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Bateman missed Week 5 and it isn't looking promising for Week 6 either. Devin Duvernay and Demarcus Robinson have been the main wideouts in a scenario were Bateman sits with Duvernay being the only real fantasy consideration.

Indianapolis Colts

Jonathan Taylor back at practice Thursday
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 13 2022, 1:16 pm

Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has returned to practice today, a good sign for his chances to play Sunday vs. Jacksonville. (Zak Keefer on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Taylor missed Week 5 against the Broncos but seems like he's on the right side of Questionable heading into Week 6. The Colts running attack has been inefficient this season leading to Taylor averaging 3.6 yards per carry. Back in Week 2, Taylor rushed 9 times for 54 yards against the Jaguars in a 24-0 loss.

Miami Dolphins

Dolphins optimistic Tyreek Hill will play in Week 6
Seen in a walking boot after Week 5
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 12 2022, 9:08 am

Despite suffering a foot injury and being in a walking boot after the loss to the Jets, the Dolphins are optimistic that Pro-Bowl WR Tyreek Hill will be able to play Sunday against the Vikings, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Good news for Hill but the Dolphins are still working out who their quarterback will be against Minnesota. Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is not expected to play but Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) could get cleared. He won't practice today and will be allowed to have a non-contact practice tomorrow.

New Orleans

Chris Olave dealing with concussion
WR departed early in Week 5
By: Doug Orth | Oct 10 2022, 11:55 pm

Dennis Allen said Chris Olave is in concussion protocol. He said Olave felt pretty good this morning when he saw him. "We won't put him back out there until he's cleared to go by the doctors," he said. (ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell)

FFToday's Take: It sounds as though Olave has a good chance to clear protocol in time to play in Week 6 against the Bengals, but fantasy managers may not get a clear indication regarding his availability until Thursday or Friday. Olave's presence has taken on more importance with Michael Thomas (toe) missing the last two games. If he suits up, he needs to be in fantasy lineups.

Cincinnati Bengals

Tee Higgins nursing ankle sprain
Logged only 10 snaps in Week 5
By: Doug Orth | Oct 10 2022, 11:50 pm

Bengals WR Tee Higgins will be day-to-day with a sprained ankle, per Zac Taylor. (ESPN.com - Ben Baby)

FFToday's Take: Thousands of fantasy managers were burned by Taylor's decision to basically put Higgins on ice Sunday night, as the receiver logged only 10 offensive snaps in an important division game after being limited in practice all week and listed as questionable on the injury report. Keep a closer eye on the team's injury report this week and make sure he gets a full practice in at some point. In theory, Hayden Hurst and Tyler Boyd stand to benefit the most in Week 6 against the Saints if Higgins doesn't see much improvement in his ankle.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay playing 'long game' with Julio
WR hopefully wrapping his PCL recovery
By: Doug Orth | Oct 10 2022, 11:30 pm

The Buccaneers haven’t gotten much from receiver Julio Jones in September and October. They’re apparently not trying to. Via JoeBucsFan.com, GM Jason Licht said before Sunday’ game that the team is “playing the long game here a little bit” with the veteran receiver, with the goal of having him healthy late in the year. Coach Todd Bowles agreed with that assessment on Monday. “Yeah, I think we are,” Bowles told reporters. “Again, just like Jason said, we want him fully healthy and not coming out for a week and then missing another couple [of] weeks. We think we’ve got enough guys right now to weather that storm.” (Pro Football Talk - Mike Florio)

FFToday's Take: Jones proved he still has some explosiveness left in Week 1. Unfortunately, he partially tore his PCL in the next game, providing further evidence to the folks in the "injury-prone crowd" that he can't stay healthy anymore. The Buccaneers are taking the wise approach here. It would appear Jones is closer to returning than not as he has logged five limited practices over the last two weeks. When he returns, managers may finally get the WR3 upside they were hoping from him … if he can stay healthy.

Carolina Panthers

Panthers fire head coach Matt Rhule
11-27 during his three seasons in Carolina
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 10 2022, 11:09 am

Panthers fired HC Matt Rhule, who has gone 11-27 during his three seasons in Carolina. Rhule leaves Carolina with four years left on the seven-year contract he received from Panthers’ owner David Tepper in January 2020. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: There had been rumors over the last couple weeks that owner David Tepper was getting tired of the situation in Carolina and changes could be coming. And here we are. The Panthers sputtered against the 49ers yesterday giving up 37 points while Baker Mayfield continues to be unimpressive. Passing game coordinator and secondary coach Steve Wilks has been named as interim head coach.

Seattle Seahawks

Rashaad Penny suffers fractured tibia in Week 5
Tests tomorrow to determine if surgery is necessary
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 9 2022, 4:55 pm

#Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny suffered a fractured tibia, sources say, and he’ll have tests tomorrow to determine associated damage to see if surgery is necessary. As of now, it’s likely. Heart-breaking. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Penny was carted off and is obviously going to miss some time meaning rookie Kenneth Walker is likely to see a lead role in the Seahawks backfield moving forward. Expect Seattle to bring in a veteran running back as well.

Arizona Cardinals

Rondale Moore expected to play
Knee injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 9 2022, 8:15 am

Cardinals’ WR Rondale Moore, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a knee injury, is expected to play vs. Eagles, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: A.J. Green (knee) will also be on the field today after getting in a full practice on Friday. Moore had back-to-back limited practices on Thursday and Friday. He should be on the field a lot today but will be hard to trust given the Questionable tag and his poor showing in Week 4 (3-11-0, 5 targets).

Chicgao Bears

David Montgomery expected to play
Limits the value of Khalil Herbert
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 9 2022, 8:10 am

Bears’ RB David Montgomery, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a knee injury, plans to play against the Vikings barring any pregame setbacks, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Montgomery missed Week 4 with a knee injury allowing Khalil Herbert to have the backfield mostly to himself, posting a 19-77-0, 1-24-0 line while ceding a few touches to Trestan Ebner. With Montgomery back in the mix, he may be more of a middling RB2 this week if the coaches decided to keep Herbert more involved.

Miami Dolphins

Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle expected to play
Both Miami receivers listed as Questionable
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 9 2022, 8:00 am

Dolphins’ WRs Tyreek Hill (quad) and Jaylen Waddle (groin), both listed as questionable for Sunday, both are expected to play vs. the Jets barring any pregame setbacks, per sources. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Both Miami receivers were limited in practice on Thursday and Friday but both are expected to play. Both hold their high-end value in a matchup with the Jets-D that's middle of the pack against wide receivers after four games.

New Orleans

Michael Thomas Out, Andy Dalton to start for Saints
Jameis Winston Doubtful
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 7 2022, 3:42 pm

Saints WR Michael Thomas officially out, QB Jameis Winston doubtful. WR Jarvis Landry listed as questionable after not practicing Friday, but coach Dennis Allen said he feels good about Landry’s chances. (Mike Triplett on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Dalton will get his second-straight start for the Saints. He finished with a 236-1-0 line and completed 71% of his passes against the Vikings last week in London. With Thomas out, expect rookie Chris Olave to be the main receiving weapon against the Seahawks.

Baltimore Ravens

Ravens rule out WR Rashod Bateman, RB Justice Hill
Both missed practice all week
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 7 2022, 2:56 pm

Ravens ruled out WR Rashod Bateman for Sunday night’s game vs. the Bengals due to his foot injury, and also ruled out RB Justice Hill due to his hamstring injury. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Bateman didn't practice all week after suffering a foot injury in Week 4. Devin Duvernay gets a slight bump in appeal this week in the Ravens low-volume passing attack. With Hill absent the Ravens will likely give Kenyan Drake more reps but J.K. Dobbins is the back to own in Baltimore.

New York Giants

Daniel Jones expected to play in Week 5
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 7 2022, 10:56 am

#Giants QB Daniel Jones (ankle) received no game status and he'll play on Sunday vs. the #Packers. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Daniel Jones left last week's game with an ankle injury but with backup Tyrod Taylor out with a concussion, Jones will make the start for the Giants in London. However, the Giants have nobody to throw to outside of Saquon Barkley. Kenny Golladay (knee), Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) and Kadarius Toney (hamstrings) are all out for this game.

Buffalo Bills

Dawson Knox Out for Week 5
Isaiah McKenzie still in concussion protocol
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 7 2022, 10:43 am

Injury issues continue for the #Bills: Coach Sean McDermott rules out TE Dawson Knox, S Jordan Poyer, CB Christian Benford, WR Jake Kumerow and WR Jamison Crowder (heading to IR). (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Isaiah McKenzie is still in concussion protocol but could be cleared in time for the game Sunday against the Steelers. Knox is battling a foot and hamstring injuries. Quintin Morris could see some extra looks but isn't really a viable fantasy options.

Atlanta Falcons

Kyle Pitts Out for Week 5, hamstring injury
Missed practice all week
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 7 2022, 12:00 am

Tight end Kyle Pitts has been formally ruled out of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Falcons announced on Friday. Pitts didn't practice all week due to a hamstring injury, falling in line with the fact he's now unavailable for this divisional matchup. (AtlantaFalcons.com)

FFToday's Take: Being ruled out Friday, doesn't bode well for Week 6. With Cordarrelle Patterson placed on IR earlier in the week, the Falcons now find themselves with only one playmaker, rookie Drake London, as they take on the Bucs in Week 5. Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley will handle the running back duties.

Chicgao Bears

David Montgomery limited in practice Thursday
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 6 2022, 3:58 pm

Bears’ RB David Montgomery was upgraded today to limited practice after not practicing Wednesday due to his ankle injury. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: We'll monitor Montgomery's practice status on Friday as his availability will have a huge impact on the fantasy value of backup Khalil Herbert. The Bears travel to Minnesota in Week 5.

Denver Broncos

Latavius Murray expected to be Inactive for Broncos
Melvin Gordon, Mike Boone expected to handle RB duties
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 6 2022, 1:42 pm

Newly signed RB Latavius Murray, just poached off the #Saints practice squad, is expected to be inactive for the #Broncos tonight, source said. Just too quick a turnaround from London and with a new system. Expect him to play vs. the #Chargers. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone will handle the RB duties for the Broncos tonight with Gordon getting the majority of touches. He makes for a solid RB2 option against the Colts.

Atlanta Falcons

Kyle Pitts misses practice for second-straight day
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 6 2022, 1:01 pm

No Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (hamstring) at the open to the media portion of practice for the second straight day. (Michael Rothstein on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Pitts has been a fantasy disappointment thus far with just 10 catches and 150 yards through four games and now is in danger of missing Week 5 against the Buccaneers. It's not looking good, but Friday's practice report will give us a better understanding of his status for Sunday.

New Orleans

Jameis Winston, Michael Thomas miss practice Wednesday
Both missed Week 4
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 5 2022, 3:23 pm

Jameis Winston and Michael Thomas were not at practice today. Alvin Kamara and Marcus Maye were back on the field. (Nick Underhill on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Both players missed Week 4 against the Vikings so the week isn't getting off to a great start for them. Winston (back) missed all of practice last week and Thomas sat out with a toe injury. Rookie Chris Olave is the wide receiver to own in New Orleans.

Indianapolis Colts

Jonathan Taylor ruled Out for Week 5
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 5 2022, 1:24 pm

The #Colts ruled out RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) for tomorrow night vs. the #Broncos. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: With the short turnaround, it wasn't likely Taylor would be ready to go for Week 5 against the Broncos. Phillip Lindsay is expected to get called up from the practice squad and will likely share time with Nyheim Hines. Deon Jackson is also on the roster but mainly plays special teams.

Denver Broncos

Denver signs Latavius Murray off Saints practice squad
Javonte Williams and Randy Gregory land on Injured Reserve
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 4 2022, 11:34 am

#Broncos officially have signed RB Latavius Murray off Saints practice squad, place both RB Javonte Williams (knee) and OLB Randy Gregory (knee) on Injured Reserve (James Palmer on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Murray just posted a 11-57-1 line for the Saints in Week 4 against the Vikings. Now, he'll swap uniforms and be waiting in the wings should either Melvin Gordon or Mike Boone stumble.

Indianapolis Colts

Jonathan Taylor in limbo for Week 5
Star RB dealing with ankle sprain; Colts play on Thursday
By: Doug Orth | Oct 3 2022, 11:55 pm

Tests on Colts’ RB Jonathan Taylor’s ankle were negative and he has a chance to play Thursday night vs. Denver, per source. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds as though Taylor's managers can breathe a sigh of relief. With that said, the short week will make it very difficult for Taylor to play and play well. As of now, managers should expect to get more usage out of Nyheim Hines regardless of whether Taylor goes against Denver. Phillip Lindsay could also assume some of the workload as well. If Taylor plays Thursday, expectations need to be lowered.
