Wilson burst onto the scene last week against the Niners. The rookie
3rd rounder went for 7-76-2 on a season high seven targets. Largely
ignored in fantasy because of the bleak outlook of the Cardinals
and the lack of big-time collegiate production at Stanford, Wilson
has potentially leaped Rondale Moore for target priority. With Joshua
Dobbs playing highly competent football, and Hollywood Brown getting
the defensive attention, Wilson could be a sneaky upside WR3 play
against a Cinci defense that’s given up a few scores to secondary
receivers.
Last week was a major bust for Pittman as he went for 1-15-0
on a season low five targets. But that’s an outlier, as
the Colts leading receiver had seen 11+ targets and 8+ receptions
in the previous three games. While I don’t like the matchup
on the ground for the Colts, the passing game has a chance against
a secondary giving up the 8th most fantasy points to the position.
While his more high-profile teammate has blown the doors off
the Bucs and Commanders the past two weeks, Smith has quietly
had a solid PPR floor in 2023. The Rams have quietly throttled
most passing games so far this season, but look for Smith to benefit
from single coverage in a game that has a 51 point over/under,
the 2nd highest of Week 5.

Steelers Receivers vs BAL
Outside of a few splash plays in Week 2 and 3, this receiving
core has been downright terrible this season. Kenny Pickett is
now banged up and Mitch Trubisky isn’t exactly an upgrade. The
Steelers are in turmoil on both sides of the ball getting blasted
in two of their first four games. I could maybe stomach George
Pickens as an upside gamble WR3, but there is a severe lack
of confidence in everyone on this offense.
Giants Receivers @ MIA
The stink of another Giants offensive performance still lingers,
and continues to blanket all skill position players in this offense.
The line is an absolute turnstile so that eliminates any possibility
of downfield throws. Add in the fact that an alpha receiver has
yet to emerge from this receiving group and you have a recipe
for disaster even against a weak Dolphin defense.
Rookie Aidan O’Connell made his first NFL start last week
and while he didn’t embarrass himself, he struggled to spread
the ball downfield to his receivers. Meyers only managed 33 empty
yards on two receptions, and this week faces a Packer secondary
that has been strong defending boundary receivers. Even if Jimmy
G. returns, the passing game will likely funnel through Adams
in the matchup against his former team.
