If a player in Jacksonville has the capability to be a league winner this season, it's Brian Thomas Jr. The Jaguars are hopeful that he can be the dynamic, vertical threat in the offense. This is the role that Thomas thrived in at LSU last season.
Thomas led the nation in receiving touchdowns last season, many of them coming on deep plays. His longest touchdown was 86 yards in a matchup against Army. He also finished the year with 11 receptions of 30-plus yards.
He will mesh well with Lawrence as a quarterback, who has been more than willing to push the ball downfield. Lawrence had 71 deep ball attempts (passes with 20-plus air yards) which was 5th among QBs last season. If Lawrence and Thomas can develop a connection, Thomas could be a tremendous fantasy asset.

Both Etienne and Bigsby likely to play Jags have numerous injuries on offense By: Mike Krueger | Sun Nov 3, 2:09 am
| | #Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby (ankle) and RB Travis Etienne Jr. (hamstring) are both likely to play today, barring a setback, sources say.
It's the same for WR Brian Thomas Jr. (chest), though Gabe Davis (shoulder) appears to be more of a long-shot. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: The Jaguars are dealing with a number of injuries to their offensive personnel but it sounds like both running backs will be active which caps their ceiling. With Gabe Davis likely to miss, expect Parker Washington to get more looks this week against the Eagles who are giving up the 10th most fantasy points to wide receivers.
| TE Evan Engram downgraded to Out for Week 2 Hamstring injury sustained in pregame warmups By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 15, 11:59 am
| | TE Evan Engram sustained a hamstring injury in pregame warmups and has been ruled out for today's game. (Jaguars PR on X)
FFToday's Take: Rough. Expect more looks for the Jaguars receivers including Brian Thomas Jr., Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis. All three are viable options against the Browns in Week 2.
| Christian Kirk dealing with mild calf injury Will be held out of preseason game Week 2 By: Mike Krueger | Thu Aug 15, 9:38 am
| | Jaguars WR Christian Kirk has a mild calf injury that has kept him out of joint practices vs. Bucs + Saturday’s preseason game, per HC Doug Pederson. He will be re-evaluated next week.
Pederson said QB Trevor Lawrence won't play Sat. Happy with joint practice reps this week. (Cameron Wolfe on X)
FFToday's Take: This will be something to monitor next week. If Kirk is able to back on the field, then there's no need panic about his fantasy value. More meaningful reps incoming for rookie Brian Thomas Jr., Gabe Davis and Parker Washington in the meantime.
