FFToday's Take: Jordan Mason was reportedly making a strong push to overtake Mitchell anyway, so this just confirms that Mason is now one of the most valuable handcuffs in fantasy. With Mitchell both set to hit free agency at the end of the season, he has likely taken his last snap with the 49ers.

Injury Christian McCaffrey sidelined with calf strain

#49ers RB Christian McCaffrey has a calf strain. He is unlikely to participate in this preseason, per Kyle Shanahan. He's likely to miss a couple of weeks of practice, also. (Nick Wagoner on X)

FFToday's Take: We may not see much of McCaffrey the rest of the pre-season as the consensus No.1 pick in fantasy football has picked up a calf strain in camp. Matt Breida has been added to the roster as a result. The team has also been missing rookie Isaac Guerendo and Elijah Mitchell who both have hamstring issues.
