2025 Outlook
Depth Chart
Nico Collins enters the 2025 season as a WR1 in fantasy football. Collins got off to a hot start in 2024, snagging 32 receptions for three scores through the season's first five games. While the numbers he produced upon his return don't jump off the page, they still showed that Houston's passing game goes as Collins goes. He is a high-target receiver who the team heavily relies on, meaning fantasy managers should do the same. Collins is a big-bodied receiver with the ability to get downfield. His 14.8 yards-per-catch ranked 15th in the league last season, ahead of known downfield threats like Ja'Marr Chase, Zay Flowers, and Tyreek Hill.

This season sets up nicely for Collins. Stroud is one year wiser and more experienced, and Collins has no real competition for targets. He's also smack dab in the prime of his career. For those selecting near the end of Round 1, Collins is a great target as a second selection after first picking one of the top RBs. Don't be surprised if he flirts with 100 receptions and double-digit TDs in 2025.

Texans ruled out WR Nico Collins for Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots. Collins was carted off last week after suffering a concussion and did not practice this week. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: Without Collins the Texans will rely on slot man Christian Kirk, Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel as their top receivers against New England. Kirk is probably the best fantasy option as he will mostly avoid outside DBs Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis.

Nico Collins will be a healthy scratch in Week 18

Veteran wide receiver Nico Collins won’t play in this one today. A team source tells me the Texans want to rest their veteran wide receiver ahead of the playoffs. Expect a lot of action for their two rookies. Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. Last week, each scored on the first two opening drives. A 75 and 43 yard TD for each. They will face a Colts defense without Sauce Gardner and a passing defense allowing 250 yds in the air. (Jane Slater on X)

FFToday's Take: Week 18 strikes again. The Texans have enough depth at receiver with Higgins, Noel, Xavier Hutchinson, and Christian Kirk that they can safely rest Nico and likely handle the Colts with Riley Leonard at quarterback. Higgins and Noel are Flex options for Week 18.
