2025 Outlook
Depth Chart
Any questions about injuries derailing his career were vehemently squashed, as Joe Cool enjoyed the best statistical season of his NFL career last season. Behind a league high 652 attempts, Burrow led the NFL with 4,918 yards passing, and 43 touchdowns, and cemented himself as fantasy's best pocket passer. More of a scrambler than runner, Burrow relies on a heavy volume (Cinci had the highest pass percentage in the NFL) and the best tandem of receivers in the game, to attack all levels of the field.

With the Bengals doing little to improve one of the worst defenses, Burrow and the offense are going to have to win plenty of shootouts, and while not great for real football, it's quite a boon for fantasy owners of any Bengals offensive player. Burrow is more focused and determined as ever and the metrics show he's only getting better. His 70.6 completion percentage was a career best, as was his 43-9 touchdown to inception ratio. As a pocket passer his upside and weekly consistently will be capped a bit, but he's the first QB off my board after Jackson, Allen, Daniels, and Hurts and someone I'd love to stack with Chase or Higgins.

Injury Joe Burrow hopeful he can play on Thanksgiving
QB returned to limited practice on Monday
By: Doug Orth | Tue Nov 11, 11:30 pm

Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow didn't want to reveal too much about when he could be playing for the Cincinnati Bengals again this season, but he does have a potential target date in mind. Burrow said Monday that it will be very meaningful if he can return from a turf toe injury on his left foot for the Thanksgiving Day game against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 27. Two years ago, Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury during a November prime-time game at M&T Bank Stadium that was also on a Thursday night. He officially returned to practice Monday in a limited capacity as the team opened his 21-day window to return from injured reserve. (ESPN.com - Ben Baby)

FFToday's Take: Burrow noted there are a lot of variables that need to be considered for him to return over the next 21 days, but it would appear the most important variable - his recovery from turf toe surgery - has gone well enough for him to consider a return to game action at some point in the next two weeks. It goes without saying that Burrow needs to be added in whatever leagues he was dropped, if only for a fantasy playoff schedule that features the Ravens (Week 15), Dolphins (Week 16) and Cardinals (Week 17).

Trade: Bengals acquire QB Joe Flacco from Browns
Bengals trying to save their season
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Oct 7, 1:13 pm

Cleveland Browns
Trade: Browns are trading QB Joe Flacco and a 6th-round pick to the Bengals for a 5th-round pick. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: Jake Browning has thrown 6 TDs and 8 INTs since taking over for Joe Burrow in Week 2. He looked particularly bad against the Lions in Week 5 (251-3-3), making numerous poor decisions before taking on a couple garbage time TDs. Flacco should draw some interest in 2-QB and Superflex leagues but isn't going to move the needle for Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins as the offensive line remains a serious problem. Look for the Bengals to push Flacco to start in Week 6 against the Packers.

Injury Surgery coming for Joe Burrow?
Turf toe injury could sideline him 3 months
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Sep 15, 8:32 am

Cincinnati Bengals
ESPN sources: Bengals QB Joe Burrow will need toe surgery that will sideline him a minimum of three months. The Bengals have been calling around to other free-agent quarterbacks since after Joe Burrow’s injury, knowing they will have to add at least one more to their roster. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: Burrow left the Bengals' Week 2 game against the Jaguars in the 2nd quarter with a turf toe injury. If surgery is required, this would be a lost season for Cincinnati's star quarterback. At best, he could return in mid-December. Jake Browning will be the starting QB for the foreseeable future and be an option for QB-needy teams on the waiver wire.
